Newark & Sherwood District Council

The District Council is currently in the process of producing the Local Development Framework (LDF) and the timetable for this is detailed in the Local Development Scheme. The LDF will form the local element of the Development Plan for the area and will be used in decision making by the Council in terms of investment and in the determination of planning applications.

The LDF will consist of a folder of documents including:

• the Proposals Map;
• the Core Strategy and Allocation & Development Management Development Plan Documents (DPDs); and
• Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)

As each DPD is adopted elements of the Newark & Sherwood Local Plan (1999) will be replaced. Upon adoption of the Allocations & Development Management DPD this process will have been completed and the Local Plan will have been fully replaced.

The timetable and process for the production of the Local Development Framework is set out within our Local Development Scheme (LDS) which is available to view below. Please however note that the timetable set out in the July 2010 has been amended and it this document which now sets out the detailed programme for the delivery of the Allocations & Development Management DPD.
