Balderton Parish Council

Balderton is one of the largest villages in Nottinghamshire, and is still growing. The village has a large range of amenities including a comprehensive school, two primary schools and several nurseries, a leisure centre, library, numerous supermarkets and shops to cater for most requirements.‌

Bookings

Balderton village centre

Balderton village centre is an ideal venue for conferences and meetings, wedding receptions and parties. It includes eight changing rooms with showers for sports users as well as separate rooms for referees. Conditions of hire (PDF File, 21kb)

The hall can accommodate 150-180 people seated at round tables for wedding receptions and parties, and approximately 250 people seated for conferences and meetings. It can also be divided into two smaller rooms.

Allotments

The parish council rents land from the Southwell Diocese to provide allotments at reasonable rates. If you live in Balderton and are interested in taking an allotment , you can apply to the council office, although there is a considerable waiting list. The current rent is £15 per year.

Balderton Defibrillators

There are a number of defibrillators in Balderton. These are located at:

  • Chuter Ede School Gates - Wolfit Avenue
  • Cricket Club next to the Village Centre - Coronation St
  • Sainsbury’s supermarket - London Road
  • The Grove Inn - London Road
  • Well Pharmacy - Main Street
  • William Ghent House - Wilfred Avenue

These are available around the clock; each stored in a secure, coded box.

If you find an unconscious person who is not breathing call 999.

  • the ambulance control will give you the code for the defibrillator box nearest you
  • commence resuscitation with chest compression and send a person with the code to fetch the defibrillator
  • once the defibrillator arrives switch on and follow the voice commands

Flooding

The Parish Council has a number of sandbags available to provide initial, temporary, assistance for householders in the event of forecast flooding. Please contact Cllr R. Rouse on 01636 676097 to access these in an emergency.
