COVID-19:Recycling and garden waste collections

We are pleased to confirm that recycling (silver bin) collections will resume, district wide, from Monday 13 April.

Residents simply need to revert back to their calendar and place their bins out on the normal collection day. As the routes have changed, we cannot guarantee that your bin will be emptied at its usual time so please place your bin out by 6.00 am.

Residents should also continue to put their critical waste (green/black bin) out for collection on their normal day by 6.00am.

Please note that no additional side waste will be collected. Garden waste collections remain temporarily suspended.

Garden recycling collection service

From April 2020 we will be offering a new in-house garden recycling service across the district.

Delivering the service ourselves will help us meet our recycling ambitions and help us respond better to local residents.

We welcome new customers.

If you are an existing customer it is possible that your collection day may change.

If you have ordered a new brown bin please note this might not be delivered immediately but you will receive it in time to fill it up before your first collection in April.

How much will it cost?

For just £35 a year you will get:

  • A brown bin
  • An all year-round collection service - every two weeks between March and November, and monthly from December to February

Additional bins are available at £35 each

The service runs from 1 April to 31 March. There are no concessions or pro-rata for joining the service part-way through the year.

Upon receipt of payment you will be given a sticker to place on your bin. Only bins with stickers on will be collected.
