Applying and bidding for Council housing

To apply for a home with us, it is our preference for you to apply to join our housing register through our MyHome service by registering a new account. If you require alternative methods of applying, please contact us.

To fill out the online housing application form, you will need to create a MyHome account first. Once created, go to 'Applications' under the 'My hub' header on the MyHome dashboard, then click 'Create application'.

Once complete, you will be assessed to determine which banding you can bid on. This can take a number of days.

Once complete, you can bid for properties they are eligible for via online adverts through MyHome or by the phone. Helpful video guides are available on the Council’s website to show how to apply and bid for properties.

Already on the housing register?

If you are on the housing register, you can look at the homes available now through MyHome. We advertise available properties weekly from Thursday, and bids must be submitted by noon on Monday.

To place a bid on a property, you must be on the housing register. If you are on the housing register but have not yet created your account, to place a bid you will need your housing application number.
