Be aware of License Fee scam
Posted on: Thursday, May 15, 2025We have been made aware by the National Anti Faud Network that there have been some incidents of a Licence Fee scam in our district.
If you own a premises and receive a call out of the blue, with no prior communication about payment of a premise annual fee; this could be a scam. If the caller is claiming to be from Newark and Sherwood District Council and you are unsure if it could be a scam, hang up and call us back on 01636 650 000. We will then let you know if we’ve tried to call you. Please always stay alert and stay safe.
