Sunflower Making Workshops

Free sunflower making workshops will be taking place across the district throughout August to mark Ukrainian Independence Day. Those who take part will be able to take their creations home to display and show their support. There’s also an opportunity to make a second sunflower which will be used in the creation of a large textile artwork and displayed in the district at a future date.

The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and a symbol of peace and unity. These workshops are intended to let both adults and children show their support for the country in a creative way and to make the Ukrainian refugees in our district feel welcome and acknowledged.
